OUR PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy matters, but it can sometimes be confusing.

This page explains our approach to privacy on our website and how it affects you.

Short version

  • We collect anonymous statistics about your visit, like which of our pages you viewed.
  • Some 3rd parties like Facebook may know you visited this website, if you use their services. We can't control them but we don't believe this knowledge poses any threat to you.
  • If you place an order with us we take great care to keep your information safe and we'll never share it with others without your express permission.
  • We never share your data with 3rd parties except where it is needed to deliver our own services.
These are just the key points. If you need more detail, please keep reading.

Measuring our Visitors

We measure visitors to our website using Google Analytics. This records what pages you view within our site, how you arrived at our site and some basic information about your computer. All of that information is anonymous - so we don't know who you are; just that somebody visited our site.

The information we collect from analytics helps us understand what parts of our sites are doing well, how people arrive at our site and so on. Like most websites, we use this information to make our website better.

You can learn more about Google Analytics or you can choose to opt out if you wish.

Facebook, Twitter and other social networks

These services provide social buttons and similar features which we may use on our website - such as the "Like" and "Tweet" buttons.  To do so we embed code that they provide and we do not ourselves control. To function, their buttons generally know if you're logged in; for example Facebook will use your account information with them to say "x of your friends like this". We do not have any access to that information, nor can we control how those networks use it.

Social networks therefore could know that you're viewing this website, if you use their services (that isn't to say they do, but their policies may change). As our website is remarkably inoffensive we imagine this is not a concern for most users.

We provide an option for customers to login to their SSDigitizing accounts using their Facebook credentials, during this process we provide no information to Facebook and only acquire basic information about you from Facebook, such as your email address and name.  We track that you have logged in using Facebook credentials for security reasons, but we do not gather or store any information about your friends, networks or any other information you may store in your Facebook account.

If you order our services

When you order one of our services through our secure website, we will record specific personal information about, such as your name and email address.

We will also collect and store information about your use of our services so as to improve them. For example, we may track when visitors have problems completing our forms so that we can improve our site and make it easier for you and others in the future. None of these details identify you personally.

We may also collect and store information about how you connect to our websites, such as the type of device (desktop, smartphone, etc) and certain characteristics of your device, such as the screen size. We use this information to improve our websites and ensure that we provide the best possible experience for all of our visitors. None of these details identify you personally.

Like all businesses, we also log account and transaction details for accounting and customer service purposes, and to monitor our business activities.

Emails

We may send you email notifications regarding your orders or which you have specifically requested (such as when you contact us).

We may from time to time send emails of a marketing nature to our customers, of which you are always free to opt out if you so desire.

We will never provide your personal information or email address to any third parties except where they are specifically employed to help deliver our own services.

Online Payments

We use a variety of payment providers to bill for our services online. These companies will have access to your personal and payment information, as it is necessary in order to process the payment transaction. We provide the minimum amount of information possible to each of our payment providers in order to complete your purchases.

We use Stripe.com to securely process credit card payments unless you choose to use PayPal during the order process. During the order process you may choose to have your payment information stored to speed up future orders.  We do not store your credit card information, we store a reference number which is provided by Stripe.com when they process your order.

We offer you the choice of using PayPal to securely process your credit card or PayPal account payments, if you prefer to use them to process your purchase.

Our staff can not access the credit card information you provide when processing a payment through our site as we do not store this information, we do however store the type of credit card used (Visa, MasterCard, etc) and a piece of the account number to use as a reference so you know which credit card you used to make a purchase. This information can not be used by us or any other party to make a purchase, so your account remains secure between you and the processor you choose for your payment.

We share information with these companies only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing payments you make via our website.

Security

SSDigitizing takes many precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. These precautions include, but are not limited to:

  • Use of SSL encryption for all communication with our web servers ... your connection is secured from the first time you connect to any of our sites
  • Hardware located in secured data centres, behind network firewalls
  • All access to information is restricted by passwords and/or secure keys
  • Restrictions are imposed on what information can be accessed from any location
While we take great care to ensure any confidential information remains protected, we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the Internet, or the security of your personal information which is stored by third parties such as our payment processors.

Please remember that you alone are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential, nobody at SSDigitizing will ever ask you for your account password, not by email or any other means, so please don't trust anyone who may ask you for it.
